The old capital of the Inca Empire, the city of Cuzco was declared by the UNESCO, Cultural Heritage of Mankind in 1983 and is, undoubtedly, one of the most important destinations in the country. Its cobbled streets host majestic constructions built by the Incas, along with colonial constructions of Andean baroque style. Besides, in the surroundings of the city of Cuzco fortresses and important archaeological sites rise.
The picturesque district of San Blas is a witness of the labor of the best artisans of the department. And along the Sacred Valley of the Incas, one hour from Cuzco , there are the towns of Pisac, Maras , Chinchero and Ollantaytambo.
Cuzco has an exciting nightlife with cafés, restaurants and bars for all tastes. It is without a doubt a destination with countless attractions among which is the enigmatic complex of Machu Picchu, the most important and beautiful legacy of the Incas.
