Piura is a city with numerous tourist resources among which are its plazas and levee plazas y boardwalks, as well as its deserts, ports and beaches. It also features great cultural Works, historical places and important archaeological remains. Approximately 45 minutes away from the city of Piura is Catacaos, famous for its straw and cotton, filigree objects in gold and silver and exquisite restaurants. The town of Chulucanas is another place famous for its ceramics and restaurants that sell the excellent 'chicha' (a popular fermented beverage).

The coast of Piura offers you a varied and very attractive circuit. Mancora, very close to the border with the department of Tumbes, is a small inlet with beautiful beaches of great appeal to surfers. The main bathing resort of the city of Piura is Colan, a place where the local residents gather; here the houses almost kiss the ocean; they are built on stilts, very close to the shore.
